User Agreement
The following User Agreement governs the use of the Voluntary Gateway at http://voluntarygateway.ca, including participation in the Gateway Forums, and Gateway Calendar.
Please read the rules contained in this Agreement carefully. Use of and / or registration on any part of voluntarygateway.ca constitutes an agreement to comply with these rules.
This User Agreement may be modified from time to time; the date of the most recent revisions will appear on this page. Continued access of voluntarygateway.ca will constitute acceptance of any changes or revisions to the Agreement.
Failure to follow these rules, whether listed below or in bulletins posted throughout voluntarygateway.ca, may result in suspension or termination of access to secure areas of the Gateway.
Rules of Usage
Voluntarygateway.ca does not necessarily endorse, support, sanction, encourage, verify, or agree with the comments, opinions, or statements posted on forums, communities or otherwise contained on the Gateway. Any information or material placed online, including advice and opinions, are the views and responsibility of those who post the statements, and do not necessarily represent the views of voluntarygateway.ca.
Once a username and password has been issued to a registrant, the said registrant is responsible for its usage.
VoluntaryGateway.ca is not intended for users under the age of 13, and does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from users under the age of 13. Such users are expressly prohibited from submitting their personally identifiable information to us, and from using our forums and chat areas; any information submitted by such users will not knowingly be used, posted, or retained by the Gateway.
Users agree not to use any obscene, indecent, or offensive language or to place on voluntarygateway.ca any material that is defamatory, abusive, harassing, or hateful. Furthermore, users may not place on voluntarygateway.ca any material that is encrypted, constitutes junk mail or unauthorized advertising, invades anyone's privacy, or encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or that otherwise violates any Canadian law or regulation.
Users are responsible for ensuring that any material provided to voluntarygateway.ca, posted to a forum, community or chat, including but not limited to text, photographs and sound, does not violate the copyright, trademark, trade secret or any other personal or proprietary rights of any third party or is posted with the permission of the owner(s) of such rights.
Users may not in any way make commercial or other unauthorized use, by publication, re-transmission, distribution, performance, caching, or otherwise, of material obtained through voluntarygateway.ca, except as permitted by the Copyright Act or other law, or as expressly permitted in writing by voluntarygateway.ca.
Users agree not to disrupt, modify or interfere with voluntarygateway.ca or its associated software, hardware and / or servers in any way, and users agree not to impede or interfere with others' use of voluntarygateway.ca. Users further agree not to alter or tamper with any information or materials on or associated with voluntarygateway.ca.
Other than connecting to voluntarygateway.ca servers by http requests using a Web browser, users may not attempt to gain access to the Gateway servers by any means - including, without limitation, by using administrator passwords or by masquerading as an administrator while using the Gateway or otherwise.
Users acknowledge that voluntarygateway.ca has not reviewed and does not endorse the content of all sites linked to / from the Gateway and is not responsible for the content or actions of any other sites linked to / from the Gateway.
Copyright
VoluntaryGateway.ca respects the intellectual property of others, and ask users to do the same. Voluntary Gateway.ca may, in appropriate circumstances and at its discretion, suspend or terminate the access of and take other action against users, subscribers, and / or registrants who infringe on the copyrights of others.
If users believe that work has been copied and is accessible on the Gateway in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, or that voluntarygateway.ca contains links or other references to another online location that contains material or activity that infringes copyright law, users may notify the voluntarygateway.ca by sending an email to info@voluntarygateway.ca.
Third Party Materials
Some of the materials and graphic elements found on voluntaryGateway.ca are subject to copyright laws held by other organizations. In such cases, it would be necessary to seek permission directly from this third party before using in any way.
Indemnification
Users agree to indemnify VoluntaryGateway.ca and its affiliates, employees, agents, representatives and to defend and hold each of them harmless, from any and all claims and liabilities (including attorneys fees) which may arise from user submissions, from unauthorized use of material obtained through the voluntarygateway.ca, or from breach of this Agreement, or from any such acts through use of the Voluntary Gateway.
Edits and Deletions
Voluntarygateway.ca reserves the right, but undertakes no duty, to review, edit, move or delete any material provided for display or placed on the Gateway, in its forums or communities, in its sole discretion, without notice.
Accessibility
Voluntarygateway.ca makes every effort to ensure accessibility according to W3C Accessibility Standards . If you are having difficulty accessing or interpreting any Web pages on the Gateway, please contact us at info@voluntarygateway.ca.
External Hyperlinks
Links to websites outside of voluntarygateway.ca are provided solely for the convenience of users. Voluntarygateway.ca is not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of content on external sites.
Additional Rules
Voluntarygateway.ca reserves the right to post, from time to time, additional rules of usage that apply to specific parts of the Gateway. Such additional rules will be posted in the relevant parts of the Gateway, and will be clearly identified. Continued use of the Gateway constitutes a user’s agreement to comply with these additional rules.
Termination of Voluntary Gateway Access
Voluntarygateway.ca has the right to terminate a user’s ability to access the Gateway, for any or no reason, without notice.
