It is a "he-cession"!
Men became the leader in Canada's unemployment gender gap in this 2008 recession. "71% of those who have lost their jobs in the recession so far are men." Different from 1980s and 90s, workers aged between 25 to 55 lost more of jobs than workers who are aged 55 and over. Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives called this recession a he-cession.
"Faster, Younger, Richer" - Re-think immigration in Canada
Canada can not just rely on immigration to keep the growth of population and the workforce. "Delaying the normal age of retirement, increasing fertility and faster productivity growth" can boost incomes and our economy more than immigration strategy.
