Celebrate Canada! wants to help you honour the nation

The Canadian Heritage program, Celebrate Canada!, is calling for applications for funding to help administer activities to acknowledge our fine country. The funding is available to non-profit organizations--including not-for-profit businesses and educational institutions--but not governmental organizations.

Celebrate Canada! is one of two programs designed to help communities celebrate National Aboriginal Day (June 21), Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 24), Canadian Multiculturalism Day (June 27), and Canada Day (July 1).

There are strict guidelines as to what the funding may or may not be used for. For example, a cake is the only food item that can be claimed for Canada Day and traditional foodstuffs will be considered for the other holidays. Administration fees must not exceed 15 per cent of the funding.

Application forms must be postmarked by February 28, 2009.
