The Center for Civil Society Studies of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Policy Studies is engaged in a wide variety of research and capacity-building activities in the United States and throughout the world, designed to improve understanding of the role that philanthropy and nonprofit organizations play in modern society and to strengthen the capacity of these organizations to carry out their missions.
