The benefits of partnerships in the voluntary sector
The HR Council on Social Development, the United Community Services Co-op, and Fraserside Community Services Society have been working on a project to promote shared services and collective business activities to the voluntary and non-profit sector.
Lee Rose, the HR Council's communications manager, says the project "aims to bring together a group of regional and national partner organizations to explore opportunities to develop shared service models in their particular regions or areas of activity."
Giving Back to Those Who Helped Build our Country
Seniors today have many valuable skills and experiences. They have put time and effort into their communities and need to be recognized for their contributions. On January 15, 2008 Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, announced $16,592,175 in funding for “New Horizons for Seniors” projects across Canada.
